About the Author

Ian Burdon lives and writes in Edinburgh, and takes his inspiration from the history and mythology of the city, as well as of Scotland. He likes to play with the weird and mythological while keeping the stories grounded. He avoids pure genre, but veers towards the weird/speculative/slipstream whether he intends it or not.

His writing has been described as fantasy/other world fiction with a Gothic edge, written by a naturalist with a keen eye for a very Scottish blend of realism and horror. Fantasy firmly located in a Scottish landscape.

Coyote in the Corner, his first collection of interlinked short stories was published in October 2021, and described by one Amazon review as, ‘amongst the very best, attention holding, occasionally dictionary consulting, ‘off subject’, escapist reads I have encountered for a very long time.’
